About me

I grew up drawing, creating and making a mess. I have strong memories of covering the lounge room with cut up paper, coloured drawings and half made dolls clothes. It was always a scramble to tidy up when we had unexpected guests arrive. I carried on that love of art through school and got into an art school after finishing high school. However from that point on, I struggled to see how artists actually made a living. There were very few role models in my circle that were making art full time. So I pivoted and did other things which allowed me to meet all sorts of lovely people and gave me a range of skills so I have no regrets. But I always kept my love of art in the back of my mind, maybe one day I’ll make it work.

Fast forward to covid, and a very welcome exit from my career, I started to really put my attention into art. More into the joy of creating and seeing what was emerging. I walked, I thought about what l liked, I looked at artists I admired, and most importantly, I painted. That was 4 years ago, and now art is a different world. I can now see other artists making a living creating and its so exciting. I’ve found my style to be one that uses colour and nature in an abstract way. One day I’ll be brave and introduce portraits into my work, but that’s the great thing about art, it keeps evolving.

Thank you for visiting my page, I hope you enjoy my art.
